Inspired by Malian mudcloth

Our Birifini Throw pays homage to mud cloth (or bogolanfini), a handmade Malian cotton fabric dating back to the 12th century made from woven cloth strips that are sewn together and then painstakingly dyed with fermented mud. Each piece of mud cloth tells a story through the symbols it displays. Birifini is the Bambaran (spoken in Mali) word for 'blanket'. If you're in love with mud cloth as much as we are, we hope you'll enjoy our celebration of this simple yet versatile design.

Your blankets are beautiful, I think it's the 5th blanket I bought. Mostly gifts. I still am not sure how to look up my points or how many points equal the blankets. If you could let me know that would be great. Your doing a wonderful job. Seeing your blankets in many shops in Bend.

Julie, thanks so much for all of your kind words and for supporting my business. I appreciate each and every purchase you've made and am so grateful you trust my blankets enough to gift them to your friends and loved ones. I'll email you about your points because I absolutely want to make sure you get to use them! Jala....

I will continue to give these for gifts. We gave one to our daughter and received a thank you note for the first time!

Perfect Baby Blanket

I purchased this blanket for a new grand nephew. His parents met in Africa while working in the Peace Corps. I love how this blanket reflects their time in Burkina Faso and Mali and fits perfectly into their other keepsakes from their time there.

Janet, I loved hearing the purpose behind your purchase. My husband was actually in the Peace Corps in Guatemala before we met. I know the PC experience is a significant one and I'm honored that you would choose the Baby Birifini Throw to gift as a continuation of their PC story. Thanks so much for your purchase and for supporting my business. Jala....
