Affordable Paris: A Guide to Budget-Friendly Things to Do

Paris can be expensive, but there are a lot of affordable things to do that will still give you that Paris experience. Here are some of our favorites.
Paris is a city that offers an array of things to see and do, from its stunning architecture, museums, to its quaint streets filled with cafes and boutiques. Here's a list of some of our favorite, affordable, things to do while visiting Paris:

  • Explore the city on foot: Paris is a walking city, and there's no better way to see its charm than on foot. Take a stroll along the Seine River, through the Marais neighborhood, or down the Champs-Elysees.

  • Visit the Louvre: The Louvre is one of the world's most famous museums, and it's worth a visit. Admission is free for those under 26 years old, and on the first Sunday of every month.

  • Take a picnic in the park: Paris has many beautiful parks, including the Jardin du Luxembourg and the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont. Pack a baguette, some cheese, and a bottle of wine, and enjoy a picnic in the park.

  • Check out the street art: Paris is home to some incredible street art, especially in the Belleville neighborhood. Take a walking tour of the area and discover some hidden gems.

  • Visit the Eiffel Tower: The Eiffel Tower is a must-see when in Paris. You can climb the stairs for a lower cost, or take the elevator for a bit more.

  • Visit the Musée d'Orsay: The Musée d'Orsay is another great museum in Paris (and honestly, our favorite). It's known for its collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art, and admission is free for those under 26 years old, and on the first Sunday of every month.

  • Visit the Notre-Dame Cathedral: Although the Notre-Dame Cathedral is currently under construction, you can still visit the exterior of the building. It's a beautiful example of Gothic architecture.

  • Go on a food tour: Paris is known for its incredible cuisine, and there are many food tours available that won't break the bank. Discover some of the city's hidden foodie spots while learning about its culinary history.

  • Visit a local market: Paris has many local markets, such as the Marché d'Aligre, where you can find fresh produce, cheeses, and more. It's a great way to experience the local culture.

  • Take a bike tour: Rent a bike and explore Paris on two wheels. You can join a guided tour or create your own itinerary. It's a great way to see the city and get some exercise.
