Inspired by Malian mudcloth

Our Birifini Throw pays homage to mudcloth (or bogolanfini), a handmade Malian cotton fabric dating back to the 12th century made from woven cloth strips that are sewn together and then painstakingly dyed with fermented mud. Each piece of mudcloth tells a story through the symbols it displays. Birifini is the Bambaran (spoken in Mali) word for 'blanket'. If you're in love with mudcloth as much as we are, we hope you'll enjoy our celebration of this simple yet versatile design.

Treat Yo Self (or others) Blanket

I'm cheap. I always have been. When comparing two items, I would ALWAYS choose the cheaper one, even if I didn't love it nearly as much. Over time, my husband has been teaching me the value of quality over quantity. I had been drooling over Seek & Swoon blankets for a while when I realized, "why not?...why DON'T I deserve to splurge a little?"...especially for something so meaningful. Small, woman-owned business. Made in the USA. Recycled materials. American mill. COMFY. Check check check check! And now, 1.5 years later, these blankets make me go for quality AND quantity :) I'm addicted. I've purchased 5 for myself, and they've become my go-to gift when I want to give something special and thoughtful.

Your blankets are beautiful, I think it's the 5th blanket I bought. Mostly gifts. I still am not sure how to look up my points or how many points equal the blankets. If you could let me know that would be great. Your doing a wonderful job. Seeing your blankets in many shops in Bend.

Perfect Baby Blanket

I purchased this blanket for a new grand nephew. His parents met in Africa while working in the Peace Corps. I love how this blanket reflects their time in Burkina Faso and Mali and fits perfectly into their other keepsakes from their time there.
